Help Us Ignite Young Minds Get Excited about Reading, Writing and Learning! 

Rising Stars of America is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization designed to embrace, encourage, enhance and empower the lives of young people. We want to help them reach their full potential and create brighter futures.  

Our mission is to make literacy a priority by igniting young minds of all ages to get excited about reading, writing and learning.

Our youth are today’s readers and tomorrow’s leaders. 1 in 4 children in America grow up without learning how to read. Students who do not read proficiently by the 3rd grade are 4 times more likely to drop out of school.

Project L.I.T (Learners Igniting Tomorrow) is an initiative to help improve literacy. The single most significant factor of influencing a child’s early educational success is an introduction to books. Access to books is essential to developing basic reading skills. Rising Stars of America wants to help our youth get L.I.T for literacy by purchasing brand new books, and educational materials to help build in home libraries for them to be able to have access to books they can enjoy at home. 

The hope for the Project L.I.T initiative is to be infectious world-wide, so that it inspires a love for reading for students, teachers, and parents.  Our organization believes that by providing as many books as possible, and writing materials to our learners it will increase literacy skills, reduce/prevent the high school dropout rate, increase graduation rates, higher test scores, increase job proficiency, foster long-term economic growth and reduce wide spread homelessness. In addition, more students will have the opportunity to attend college, technical school and vocational schools to embark on a successful career.

The funds raised will help us cover the cost of our organization’s daily operations, provide interactive quarterly workshops, seminars and classes throughout the Greater Cincinnati area for youth and young adults.
