India Chambers is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and a graduate of The Summit County Day. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from DePauw University and obtained a Masters of Education degree from Delta State University. She was afforded the opportunity to embark on a teaching career through the nationally renowned program, Teach for America in 2009. She was placed in the Mississippi Delta region to teach Mathematics. Currently, she is a Middle School Math Content Specialist for Greenville Public School District. Throughout her professional tenure, she has received accolades for Highest Overall Quality Distribution Index (QDI) for Greenville Public School District in the areas of Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1 and Teacher of the Year. Additionally, she serves on the Response to Intervention Team (RTI) where she implements specific state mandated interventions for struggling students to help them excel in the classroom and periodically evaluates the effectiveness of the interventions. She is a member of the Leadership Team that works with a team of teachers to make important school-wide decisions and communicates to the faculty. Her passion is the quest towards continued achievement for students inside and outside the classroom as a Teacher, Specialist and Mentor where each child can exemplify uncommon success. Furthermore, she is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated where she has furthered her commitment to service, specifically in the educating and molding of young minds.
